HON. LOUISE KINGSTON MLC NEWSLETTER
You may or may not know, I formally resigned from the WA National Party and now represent the South-West Region as an Independent. It has been a busy time setting up and a bit of an adjustment. However, I am invigorated and excited with the freedom being an Independent brings. I can address issues that align with me personally, which previously, may have fallen outside party lines which now enables me to represent you better.

This past month has been incredibly busy as I travelled around, connecting with people and listening to concerns within our local community. My involvement has ranged from exhibitions to meetings and forums, all focused on issues close to our hearts, such as closing of services by the Dardenup Butchering Company to small farmers, Firearms and the opposition of Scott River Windfarm in Augusta.
I’ve been particularly vocal about several key issues, including the complexities surrounding nuclear energy, the importance of sustainable native forestry, and the challenges our small businesses face. I understand the burdens of regulatory compliance and have witnessed firsthand how misinformation can complicate matters. That’s why I advocate for clearer communication and grassroots economic strategies.
I’m deeply concerned about economic inequality and how it affects our communities. As the farming sector prepares to transition after the closure of live sheep exports, I’m supporting collaboration among farmers to ensure their livelihoods are secure. In addition, I invite you to view my social media posts where I discuss these topics further.
I have included parliamentary questions that I’ve raised on your behalf. I believe it’s vital for us to maintain open dialogue on pressing political issues.
Overall, I remain committed to representing our community’s interests and actively listening to you. If you have concerns or need more information about any issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
